Dolpo Camping Trek is Nepal’s Remote and Seldom Seen Wild West. Graded difficulty medium to hard, maximum with elevation of 5190m, is possibly one of the best long treks in the Himalaya. This trek offers one of the remotest terrain, natural grandeur and Buddhist villages.

The most beautiful sceneries can be observed when one reaches the place known Jumla. Jumla, situated on the banks of the Tila River at 2370 meters, is the place where rice grows in the highest altitude in the world. The entire Tila Valley is covered with paddy fields growing unique red rice that is tastier than white rice, but is scorned by most local people.

The trek to Se-Phoksundo Lake is steep and difficult. This lake is within Shey Phoksundo National Park, established in 1981. Phok-sum-do is related to the three arms of the lake. The park is said to abound in wildlife, though the most spectacular inhabitants, snow leopards and herds of blue sheep, are found primarily in the restricted regions of the park near Shey. The lake and trail are snowbound from mid- November to mid- May. Almost all the inhabitants of Ringmo village move to lower elevations at this time.
